PLEASE NOTE: Effective March 1, 2017, PetFirst Pet Insurance is no longer available in Canada.  If you are a current customer, you will continue to have coverage available until your policy renewal. At that time, we will provide you with the opportunity to continue your coverage without penalty with our trusted Canadian pet insurance partner, Pets Plus Us.

Our Lifetime Accident & Illness plan is designed to take care of your dog or cat throughout the ups and downs of their entire life. Make sure you can be there for your pet when their health is less than ideal by removing financial concerns over the costs of care.

We are proud to offer three levels of comprehensive Lifetime coverage with no per-incident limits and large annual coverage limits that reset each policy year: Lifetime 5,000, Lifetime 10,000, and Lifetime 20,000. Each of our Lifetime policies protect your pets from the costs associated with accidents and illnesses, including hereditary, chronic and congenital conditions.

With our Lifetime plan, any hereditary, congenital, or chronic condition that manifests after the 14-day illness waiting period will be covered for the rest of your dog or cat's life, providing them with the care they'll need to live a happy, healthy life well into their golden years.

Any pet dog aged eight years and older (six years and older for dogs of giant breeds), or any pet cat aged eight years and up will not be approved for coverage unless we receive results proving that:

  • A Veterinarian has performed a physical exam, geriatric blood profile, including a thyroid test (T4) and urinalysis on your pet within the past two months.
